Costa Mesa police Tuesday afternoon released a video showing a theft inside the Apple store in South Coast Plaza. Five people stole iPhones and iPads worth about $29,000, police said.

The crime happened about 20 minutes before the store’s 9 p.m. closing time on Monday, said Costa Mesa police Sgt. Mike Manson.

The suspects, who didn’t show any weapons, grabbed items and fled.

The suspects were five men estimated to be in their early to mid-20s. They fled the shopping center, at 3333 Bear St., in a silver Infiniti sedan.

“There were no injuries and no weapons involved,” Manson said.
